We’re excited to be hosting an official Roots & Wings Festival Event! The Roots & Wings Festival is held from Saturday, October 18th -Sunday, November 2nd, and is a community-wide celebration honoring Arbor Day and Monarch Appreciation Day in Austin.

Join us in celebrating the Roots & Wings Festival on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at Creek Fest with South Austin Creek Alliance.

Celebrate the unique biodiversity of South Austin with hands-on workshops and stations to learn how you can become a champion for our natural spaces. It's fun, free, and all about connecting with the world around us.

 

Explore urban waterways with scientists, learn about ancestral skills like tool making, or watch how water flows through a real karst cave model. You can also dive into research from Texas State University, get a free native plant, and enjoy special activities for kids that include exploring local fossils, plants, wildlife, and the life cycles of fish and amphibians.
