​Goat Cave Immersion Experience!

Come experience the wonder of Austin’s underground frontier in Goat Cave! SACA is hosting this unique event thanks to the City of Austin's Parks and Rec department. Local cave expert, Dr. Nico Hauwert, will take you on an adventure where you will learn some of the reasons why South Austin Creeks Alliance works to protect important resources such as this!

Ages 10 and above.

We will walk the preserve looking at its caves, talking about Austin’s caves, its underground life, and groundwater flow through the Central Texas aquifers.

Wear shoes with good grip. Bring water to drink.

Helmets and lights will be provided.

Creek Clean-ups
Join SACA for the 40th Keep Austin Beautiful Day 2025!
Saturday, April 12th from 9am-11am

Each April, in honor of Earth Month, Keep Austin Beautiful hosts Keep Austin Beautiful Day, a city-wide day of service spanning over one hundred sites in all ten city council districts in the greater Austin area. During Keep Austin Beautiful Day, thousands of volunteers work together to remove litter, restore native habitats, and beautify neighborhoods.
During Keep Austin Beautiful Day, SACA will have TWO opportunities to support South Austin Creeks!

Wunneburger Neighborhood Park - We'll meet at 11901 Old San Antonio Rd. with parking located below the Onion Creek bridge, off Old San Antonio Road. Register on GivePulse.

We will have trash bags and pickup tools available to borrow. Please wear close-toed shoes and bring a water bottle.​​ Please register so we know who to expect and so we can show your involvement. ​​

Join SACA's Girdling Extravaganza!
April 5th, 13th, and 19th from 8am-10am

South Boggy Creek is beset by several invasive species which disrupt the ecosystem and degrade the biodiversity of the area. During these three separate events, we'll be training you on how to recognize and then girdle invasive trees so they can be removed without the use of toxic herbicides and preserve the integrity of the soil. Bring water and close toed shoes. We'll meet at: 2400 Campfield parkway, Austin, TX, 78745.
