Let's walk & clean the Slaughter Creek Greenbelt
Saturday June 13th from 9am - 11am
Join us for Part II of a small cleanup along the Slaughter Creek Greenbelt where we'll walk the trail that goes along its tributary and pickup small items along the way.
Where: 303 Angel Oak St., Austin, TX 78748
What to bring: Closed-toe shoes, pants, and water. We'll provide all cleaning supplies in partnership with Keep Austin Beautiful.
NOTE: We have been experiencing chiggers on this trail, consider using ankle straps or permethrin to prevent chigger bites.
Parking: Park around 303 Angel Oak St., we'll walk down to the trail from there.
Salamander Day at Whirlpool Cave!
Sunday June 14th from 9am - 12pm
Join Meg Flanagan, Dr. Caitlin Gabor, and Texas State University experts under the South MOPAC bridge for a Salamander Appreciation Day! We will also learn about how native wildlife in the area depend on Edwards Aquifer and the critical features it contains that are so vital for these ecosystems. Following the talk, Dr. Nico Hauwert will be guiding a special tour of Whirlpool cave near MoPac South where we will see first hand how the karst systems in Central Texas are formed and why they are so important. Hosted in partnership with Texas Cave Management Association.
Everyone is welcome to attend the talks that start at 9am, even if you do not wish to do the Whirlpool Cave Tour.
This is an all-ages event. Please be aware that there are not any restrooms located on site and this event may exceed three hours.

NOTE: In order to participate in the Whirlpool Cave Tour, you must register on our Salamander Day GivePulse page. Signed Waivers are required.
Whirlpool Cave is only accessible through a maintained entrance that requires the use of a ladder. Expect to be crawling on your hands and knees the majority of the tour, about 300 feet. Some sections of the cave will require squeezing through tight spaces.

What to bring: Closed-toe shoes, pants, and water are recommended. Helmets, lights and kneepads will be provided although you are welcome to bring your own. Gloves are encouraged.
Parking: Park under the highway.


Pleasant Hill Creek Cleanup
Saturday June 20th from 9am - 11am
Let's clean up Pleasant Hill Creek just behind the Lil' Darlin bar.
Where: 6507 Circle S. Rd, Austin, TX, 78745.
What to bring: Closed-toe shoes, pants, and water. We'll provide all cleaning supplies.
Parking: Park at the Lil' Darlin
Williamson Creek Cleanup
Saturday June 27th from 9am - 11am
Let's clean up Central Williamson Creek near South 1st Street.
Where: Emerald Wood Drive & South 1st St.
What to bring: Closed-toe shoes, pants, and water. We'll provide all cleaning supplies in partnership with Keep Austin Beautiful.
Parking: Park along the street at Emerald Wood Drive.


Walk & Talk at Mary-Moore Searight Park
Sunday June 28th from 9am - 11am
Join City of Austin Wildlife Services officer Rufus Raxlen on a Sunday morning walk through Mary-Moore Searight Park.
Where: 907 W. Slaughter Ln., Austin, TX 78748
What to bring: Closed-toe shoes, pants, and water.
Parking: Park at the main lot of Mary-Moore Searight park, a short drive in off of Slaughter Ln.
