We’re excited to be hosting another official Roots & Wings Festival Event! The Roots & Wings Festival is held from Saturday, October 18th - Sunday, November 2nd, and is a community-wide celebration honoring Arbor Day and Monarch Appreciation Day in Austin. Join us in celebrating the Roots & Wings Festival on Oct 25, 2025 from 11am - 2pm.

Join us to celebrate the unique biodiversity of South Austin and learn how you can become a champion for our natural spaces. It's fun, free, and all about connecting with the world around us.

Explore urban waterway with scientists, learn about ancestral skills like tool making, or watch how water flows through a real karst cave model. You can also dive into research from Texas State University, get a free native plant, and enjoy special activities for kids that include exploring local fossils, plants, wildlife, and the life cycles of fish and amphibians.

November Clean-Up with Williamson Creek Advocates Creek Adopters & South Austin Creek Alliance for Keep Austin Beautiful's Love Where You Live Day

Saturday, November 8th from 9am - 11am

Location: 5305 Meadow Creek Circle

We will be working to help clean up the section of the creek we adopted to honor the legacy and continue the stewardship of Tom Donovan.  We will also be honoring the memory of Jimmy Somma who sadly passed away recently.  Jimmy has selflessly volunteered at every cleanup for the last 4 years to care for his neighborhood creek. Please join us to honor these great men.

This work day will focus on trash removal from Williamson Creek.  Parking is on-street, so carpooling is recommended if possible.  There is Poison ivy in the area, so you may want to wear pants and bring your work gloves.  Please wear closed-toe shoes.  Hope to see y’all there!
